Tanabata (七夕) – Japanese Star Festival

I was going to enter my classroom two days ago and I saw many pieces of paper being hung on an artificial bamboo tree.
Recently in Japan, there is festival named Tanabata where many people are preparing that kind of wishing-tree. I can not explain so well about Tanabata, but you can read the explanation from the following picture.
