…more than just new eyeglasses

This afternoon a friend of mine, Vita, wanted to buy new eyeglasses. First she’s looking for it at Solaria Stage and didn’t find the one she’s looking for. Then we’re moving to Canal City. On its 3rd floor, finally she found the one she’s looking for. She found her fave’s one at Zoff, a store of eyeglasses. After deciding which one she wanted to buy and filling the form, then she got to check her eyes. A store-attendant (Japanese man, approx. 25 years old, handsome, charming…^^) was helping her to pass the ‘test’.

Ssst…I was a paparazzi. I took some photos during the ‘test’. The store-attendant realized that I was taking picture of them and you know what, he even made a ‘peace-pose’ but unfortunately I missed to shoot that moment. He did it so fast. :(

Hahaha. Anyway, it seemed like real Japanese language test for Vita. Because romaji letters were not provided, Vita (unfortunately) had to read many hiragana letters.

Thank God she could finish the ‘test’..! Well done! You got A+, Vita-chan..! :D

Birthday of Haruna-chan

Today, 10th of May 2011, is the birthday of my roommate, Haruna. Since today, she’s 19 years old.

Ayano and Kiko were hiding the birthday cake in a friend’s room living next to our room. When Haruna was in her room, they took the cake, and turned off the lamp. We called Haruna and then we sang the birthday song to celebrate the birthday of her.

Since I’m living in the new dormitory, this is my second time celebrating birthday of my roommates. First was Ayano’s, and today, the second one, is Haruna’s. I’m wishing the best for Haruna, may happiness will always be with her.

Me, My Friends, and …Catwalk

Special for my friends in FarahDi Modelling Agency in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

Miss you, girls. Wishing we can meet again in fashion-show event and do the messy-doing before walking on catwalk. Hahaha.

FOSA Welcome Party 2011

So happy..!

This is what I call togetherness in diversity..!

I met new friends and enjoyed the party in joy and happiness..!

MC(s) were speaking in two languages (English and Japanese). It was really helpful. They were also keeping the party moving well.

I love the student-performances! All performances were so fantastic..!

Unfortunately I didn’t get the picture of first performance. Anybody took the first performance’s picture? :)

Talking about food, it was great. In few minutes, they’re all gone..! Minto actually really wanted to eat the cakes, but she missed them…all. Hahaha…

I wasn’t lucky in this party. I hope my number would be shown up but till the last number was announced, 203 – my number – was still hiding. ^vV

Well, anyway, that’s not a big matter. Overall, I enjoyed the party, I got new experience, I met new friends..more than I wished before. Otsukaresama deshita..! :D

An Evening, Worship, and Consciousness

I was attending a worship in Fukuoka Masjid An Nour Islamic Culture Center few days ago. Speaker for the worship was so special. He is an Indonesian came from Yogyakarta, Ustadz Syatori Abdul Rouf. I think two important points from this worship are: 1) mankind has no reason to be arrogant at all, and 2) destiny from Allah guides mankind to heaven. Muhasabah after the worship aroused our consciousness, we are nothing without Allah. Subhanallahiwalhamdulillahiwalaailaahaillallahuwallahuakbar.

Islamic Week and Food Festival 2011

KUMSA (Kyushu University Muslim Student Association) held an event called Islamic Week and Food Festival 2011. It was held in Ito Campus (18-19 April 2011) and Hakozaki Campus (20-21 April 2011). In this event, people could get many information about Islam, participating the open-lecture, joining essay and photography competition, wearing Islamic dress, and so on. The main event was held in Hakozaki campus, 23 April 2011. Many Japanese people were enthusiastic in joining the lecture. They asked some questions to deepen their understanding about Islam.

Let me tell you more about the food festival. Because this was an Islamic event, so all foods provided were halal food.

There were three food-corners from three different countries: Indonesia, Egypt, and Malaysia. After the open-lecture, people could have their lunch for free. Many foods were provided. I ate Egypt’s and Malaysian’s. For dessert, I got a cup of es teler from Indonesian’s corner.

I was so happy today because I could meet many friends. It’s been quite long time I didn’t see them. Hisashiburi desu ne!

A Day in Nishijin

I had a nice day yesterday. The sun shined brightly and I didn’t have any class yesterday (hahaha…).

I went to my friend’s mansion in Nishijin. Mba Erna, that’s how I called her. I met her and her son, Riku, this afternoon. We had lunch together and had very interesting talk. We were talking many things: life in Japan, family, marriage, and some recipes of cooking. For your information, Mba Erna is so good in cooking. You can see her cooking here: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/fbx/?set=a.104192586275082.9418.100000530238179.

For the lunch, we had Indonesian cooking. I was so happy I could find Indonesian taste there.

Before going home, Mba Erna took some packs because she wanted me to bring home some foods. She packed some foods and gave me an extra one, cheese cookies made by herself. Hurray! I love cheesy foods…!

Gochisosama deshita…!

Help! We’re Lost!

Today was a crazy day! Hahaha.

After finishing my class, I decided to go somewhere with Fifi. Actually we wanted to go to a park in Uminonakamichi. But then we tried to go further and we’re get lost. But fortunately, we arrived in a beautiful place near Shikanoshima. It was really really close to the sea. The breeze was so great.

On the way home, we got down in Uminonakamichi, a place we should go at first. Again, it was close to the sea. We took some photos there and end this crazy-trip by having pizza for dinner. Otsukaresama!

A Story in Dining Room: Sambel Pecel

I had rice, vegetables, curry-omelet, and sambel pecel for my dinner tonight.

Sambel pecel made my roommates, Haruna and Kiko, so curious. Then they tasted it. Haruna was so surprised. She said it was too hot for her. But Kiko didn’t have same idea with Haruna. She said that she’s just okay with sambel pecel.

Yeah actually I admitted the taste of this sambel pecel. Very hot and spicy! Huuhaah…. XO

Birthday of Ayano-chan

This evening I went to cake shop with Haruna and Kiko to buy birthday cake for Ayano, our roommate. Many choices made us confused. Cheese cake, chocolate cake, decorated cake, and so on. Then finally we chose decorated cake. It was so kawaii…! Whatta cute cake!

Anyway, we were trying to hide the cake when entering our room. Kiko made conversation with Ayano and I brought the cake inside my room. Fortunately, we did it! ^^

After having dinner, Haruna turned off the lamp and I brought the birthday cake with some candles in it to the dining table. We were singing Happy Birthday together. Ayano then blowed the candle. She looked so happy. I’m wishing for her happiness. May God blesses our friendship.
